South Australian Green Party has lost touch with its ideals and its members and seek to rely on Family First Preferences in a desparate attempt to keep and gain seats. |

The True Green 4 Mitchell
is
Travis Gilbert
Greens member Travis Gilbert has announced today that he is nominating to stand in the seat of Mitchell in Adelaide as a True Green. The catalyst for this decision was a motion taken to Mayo Greens members to preference the Family First Party in the blue ribbon seat of Kavell, in return for Family First preferences in Mitchell.
“I was shocked to hear that the Greens would go down this path. When I joined the Greens I was of the understanding that The SA Greens were above this kind of political expediency. For the last three years I have been proud to be a member of a party that has put principles above politics, but evidently, I have been misled.”
"Deciding to nominate for the seat of Mitchell has not been taken lightly and it has all happened very quickly.
To directly quote Greens MP Kris Hanna regarding another party's deal with Family First, “They have put their own survival ahead of the values of their supporters. Clearly now they stand for nothing…Democrat supporters are being sold out by their leaders…The Democrats were set up to ‘keep the bastards honest’. Who are the bastards now?”Who are the bastards now? Well that is an interesting question Mr Hanna.
Cheers to all
and
Stay True
Travis

What makes this proposed deal so evil is that the Ideological pious Greens pretend to be so very different from the other parties. Political party machines are all the same, but at least the others are honest about it. What on gods green earth does Bob Brown think about the party that would have him and his partner burned at the stake getting into bed with Family First. The hypocracy is beyond belief. Just what do the Greens stand for? |

As we will see no greens candidates will give FF preferences. What i want to know where will travis gilberts preferences go? This will show us if he is serious or is there something else going on. |

It is very disappointing to see this incredibly valuable alternative media site abused and misused for dirty political purposes. The truegreen4mitchell team should be ashamed for misappropriating this site. The question the punters should be asking is, why are these so-called 'true greens' only running in Mitchell? Of course Kris Hanna defected from Labor three years ago, and the Machine Men don't forget this kind of 'betrayal'. Fine to betray their social roots and the Australian public, but never betray the Party. Labor has been infiltrating the Greens for years, and this will only get worse. One of Travis' team is ex-Green, someone who was exposed and faced disciplinary action. This whole campaign serves the dual purpose of frustrating Kris' re-election and to discredit the Greens. Good thing that the party is full of real true Greens and, guided by principle and purpose, are here to stay in SA. With massive economic, social and environmental challenges before us, the Greens offer the only alternative. Labor are now part of the problem. |
